Chief executive officer of Gaming Innovation Group, Robin Reed, left his position on September 5, 2019. The decision with an immediate effect was followed by Richard Brown assuming the position of interim CEO. The organization states that it has begun the search for a permanent replacement, which will be supervised by corporate chairman, Petter Nylander.
Under Reed’s management, GiG’s M&A growth strategy saw the acquisition of multiple assets. In addition to this, during his stewardship, the firm undertook its first IPO on the Oslo Bors in 2015, before transferring to the larger Stockholm Nasdaq this year.
Petter Nylander pointed out that Reed has played a crucial part in building the brand to become a unique one-stop global technology provider. Expressing sincere gratitude for the enormous contribution, Nylander clarified as follows:
“However, the company now enters into the next phase of its development with different challenges and opportunities, and the board has reached the conclusion that GiG therefore also needs a different leadership. We have a skilled management team in place, I and the board have full confidence in the chief operating officer, Richard Brown, who will be acting CEO of GiG from today.”
GiG confirmed Nylander’s plans to ‘increase his engagement’ with the company, being in charge of the firm’s leadership succession plans and executive management team.
Complex Business Vision
Despite the board alterations…
… GiG’s strategy will remain unchanged. The company will continue positioning itself as a global operator and partner for strong brands in iGaming.
One of the major objectives of the firm is taking an offline casino brand to a strong online offering, with SkyCity and Hard Rock as ultimately successful examples.
Nylander pointed out:
“We are focusing on securing potential contracts within the B2B platform services and on servicing our many customers with fully managed and component solutions. We will continue the development of the media services and the sportsbook, not least to leverage GiG’s opportunities in the US. We will also continue driving the B2C gaming operators with a focus on growth in new markets.”
Aiming to level up the safety and consumers’ protection, the company entered a strategic agreement with Betsson Group. The Malta-headquartered brand will distribute their marketing compliance screening tool, GiG Comply, to the Swedish company.
GiG Comply’s technology is designed to ensure compliance with regulations and also to keep manual checking of sites at a minimum. The solution which scans and then analyzes a gigantic base of sites and URLs, gained wide popularity thanks to the detail reports and analyses it provides.
